We are looking for an experienced (min. 2 years), exceptional and highly motivated Event or Project Manager with outstanding multi-tasking, time management, problem-solving and people-oriented skills – with the ability to work under pressure and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. About us

Teens in AI is a multi-award-winning social impact initiative launched at the UN AI for Good Summit 2018, which seeks to inspire teens to explore a future in tech and AI through collaborative, hands-on learning experiences. Since 2015, we’ve reached over 15,000 young people in over 252 cities across 60 countries worldwide.

The Work

Key elements of the Project Manager (Events) role include:

  • End-to-end project management and execution of our flagship events, specifically our IWD Global Techathon.
  • Participate and engage in the active recruitment, onboarding and management of local organisers during global campaigns.
  • Liaise with and act as a point of contact for high-profile guest speakers and partners as part of the operational planning and execution of our programs.
  • Support grant applications & engagement with external stakeholders.

As a Teens in AI Project Manager (Events) we expect you to display the following characteristics, together with a healthy dose of your own personality and individuality:

Must-have competencies

  • Be proactive, working in a fast paced start-up environment, wearing many hats.
  • Proven knowledge and execution of successful complex projects
  • Strong planning / time management / prioritisation skills / attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • At least two years of multi-phase/multi-stakeholder event organisation and / or complex project management experience.
  • Project management proficiency, including use of Gantt charts and other project management tools.
  • Ability to work with virtual teams – both core and extended team members.

Desirable technical skills

  • Collaboration tools proficiency: Google Workspace, Slack, Click-Up, Discord.
  • Familiarised with website editing & streaming tools i.e. WordPress, Youtube Live Stream, Zoom
  • Others: Canva, Eventbrite, Brevo (formally known as SendinBlue), Thinkific, data analytics tools.

  • Articulate and presentable – in word, speech and person.
  • Goal driven – a self-starter and quick learner, works to achieve tasks/goals with minimum input.
  • Creative – able to find solutions or contribute with ideas to overcome challenges as well as identify new ways of doing things, when needed.
  • A committed team player – working well with others to achieve common goals and contributing positively towards a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Relationship builder – ability to connect with people, empathise, be a good listener and build rapport
  • Aligned and/or shows interest in Teens in AI mission

Hours per week

  • 42 hours, full time
  • 8.30 am – 5 pm, daily Mon-Fri (UK timezone)
  • Remote

Experience

  • Project Management: 2 years minimum.
