About the Marketing & Programme Assistant role

Join a small, friendly team assisting on company-wide campaigns including the IWD Global Techathon, AI4Good Incubator, AI Adventures and Teens in Action Forum as well as overarching company brand and marketing.

The Role

Key elements of the Digital Marketing Manager role include:

Social Media Strategy

  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing and the CEO to develop and implement the Social Media Strategy in line with overall business aims.
  • Manage and maximise social media engagement tools (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram) to strengthen and grow our digital presence.
  • Plan and manage newsletter communities via engaging content tailored to key audiences.
  • Lead and take end-to-end ownership of marketing communications campaigns – with the ability to deliver to a high standard, strong attention to detail and with minimal input and supervision.
  • Track key competitors, market trends and continuously explore new opportunities to engage audiences.
  • Identify paid advertisement needs, manage and continuously optimise paid campaigns utilising A/B testing.
  • Amplify our impact and success stories through our Partners, by acting as a point of contact and coordinating joint SoMe efforts during key programmes.
  • Ensure brand image and tone of voice consistency across all marketing initiatives.
  • Support ad hoc marketing communications projects as required by the business.

Facebook Ads and Google Ads Competency

  • Knowledge of the ad platforms: The candidate should have a deep understanding of how Google Ads and Facebook Ads platforms work and know how to navigate the interface, create and manage campaigns, analyse performance, and optimise ads for maximum impact.
  • Technical skills: The candidate should have a solid understanding of technical aspects related to ad campaigns, such as audience targeting, attribution modelling, setting up tracking pixels, implementing conversion tracking, and managing bidding strategies.
  • Analytical skills: The candidate should have strong analytical skills to analyse ad performance and identify trends and patterns. They should be able to use data to make informed decisions and optimise campaigns to achieve better results.
  • Creativity: The candidate should be able to create engaging ad copy, images, and videos that capture the attention of the target audience to persuade them to take action.
  • Communication skills: The candidate should have excellent communication skills to work with clients, stakeholders, partners and team members. They should be able to articulate their ideas, explain complex concepts, and provide regular updates on ad performance.

General marketing communications: Overview

  • For brand initiatives including CEO speaking opportunities, awards, events and brand-elevating PR and news, the Digital Marketing Manager will create high-quality copy and, through effective planning and management of scheduling tools, project managing strategy from start to finish. With the support of the marketing assistant, schedule social media posts to execute campaigns.
  • For programmes delivered by Project Managers, they will be responsible for providing first draft copy for social media posts relating to their programmes for review, refinement, sign off and distribution by the Marketing Team.
  • Plan and create assets to support campaigns, eg, graphics, reels, stories, video clips, etc. The ability to create these elements is essential and prerequisite.
  • Manage and maintain the Social Media Playbook, as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain the Marketing Playbook, as necessary.
  • Support the Head of Marketing with the management and maintenance of the website from both a visual brand and content perspective.
  • Other activities to support the team from time to time as required by the needs of the business.

Tracking and Monitoring

  • Track, monitor and optimise core social media metrics to meet KPIs for upward growth.
  • Assist the business on building SoMe insights by analysing data, capturing best practice and by producing regular internal reports to periodically keep Senior Leadership informed.
  • Coordinate and produce external end-of-programme and end-of-year reports.
  • Maintain and manage audience databases ensuring clarity and ease of access to data.
  • Website review and reporting of stats tracking, analysis and SEO.
  • Google Business Profile Management: Managing the Google Business Profile.
  • Google AdWords and Analytics: Handling Google AdWords and Google Analytics.

Must-have competencies

  • Proven work experience (min.3-5 years) as a Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Proven knowledge and execution of successful multi-channel marketing campaigns including Paid ads management and optimisation.
  • Proficient user of Content Management tools: SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, CRM, etc, alongside excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient and proven ability to set up Google and Facebook Ads.
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written; with proven ability to create concise and engaging copy tailored to different audiences.
  • With the use of Canva, creativity, an eye for great design and strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive, autonomous and flexible-minded approach – with the ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment, wearing many hats.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent (internal and external) stakeholder management skills – including ability to work with virtual teams.
  • Excellent understanding of and practical experience with automation (Zapier) and analytics tools (Mixpanel, Google)
  • Excellent understanding of and practical experience with Gen AI tools like ChatGPT, Canva etc

Desirable technical skills

  • Experience successfully creating content for Gen Z audiences and/or EdTech.
  • Familiar with collaboration tools: Google Workspace, Slack, Click-Up, Discord.
  • Familiar with website editing, video editing and streaming tools, eg, WordPress, Youtube Live Stream, Zoom, etc.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design tools, eg, Canva.
  • In-depth knowledge of CRM software and Content Management Systems for newsletter distribution.

Remuneration and contractual arrangements

  • 12-month contract
  • Full time position working 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
  • Daily hours delivered flexibly to suit your schedule
  • 100% remote working
  • You are responsible for the arrangement of your own tech equipment including laptop, as well as consistent, reliable WiFi connection and power supply.
