The Role

As the Business Development Executive, you’ll focus on driving revenue through full-cycle sales of their three core offerings to individual schools and school groups in the UK, US, and internationally: Ongoing Admin Support, Ongoing Licence Subscriptions, and Professional Development Services.
To support your sales activities, you’ll receive support from the  team at  Appsevents, who continuously maintain a database on 5,000 schools, provide constant marketing and lead generation support, and offer proposal templates and assistance editing the custom proposals.
A critical benefit of this role is the community AppEdu has built. They run webinars and support for thousands of schools worldwide, providing an engaged set of prospects.

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing a Full Cycle Sales Process: You will manage your own full cycle sales pipeline targeting Directors of IT and Educators within international school systems. This includes lead generation and prospecting, making initial contact and building relationships, conducting needs assessments, and ultimately closing new deals.
  • Achieving Quarterly New Business Targets: You will continuously review your pipeline and prioritise your daily sales activities in order to achieve, and ideally exceed, quarterly targets.
  • Completing Quarterly QBRs: You will run Quarterly Business Reviews with the client. On these calls, you’ll express appreciation for their business, review their current services and challenges, discuss challenges they’re experiencing, and seek to expand services.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: You will monitor your daily sales activities and review performance weekly with leadership. Additionally, you will identify areas of improvement and proactively seek to improve underperforming sales processes.
In your first 90 days, you will prioritise:
  • Becoming an Expert in Our Services : You will complete the Appsevents Sales Induction and leverage all existing sales support documentation and collateral in order to become an expert in their customer personas and service offerings.
  • Ramping to 100% of Weekly Sales Activities: You’ll focus on setting up a cadence of weekly sales activities that will allow you to achieve new business targets.
  • Achieving Ramp Period New Business Target: You will focus on building a strong pipeline from their  database of 5,000 international leads.  In addition, you’ll utilise support to execute and refine effective sales strategies.
About Apps Edu
AppEdu has been a Google partner for over 11 years and is 100% focused on delivering services to schools that use Google.
Before the pandemic, they were selling Professional Development (PD) services, mostly Google summits, and bootcamps. They still do this (and often direct for Google), but their focus is now on:
  1.  Selling ongoing admin support agreements
  2.  Selling ongoing licence subscriptions
    • The most important of which are Google licences
    • We are also targeting people who already have licences to move from their current partner to AppsEdu
Their target customers to sell to are schools and school-groups. Specifically:
  1.  International Schools
  2.  International School groups
  3.  UK schools (can be independent, local authority or academies)
  4.  UK school groups (Calles MAT’s – Multi Academy Trusts)
  5.  US schools (can be independent, public or charter)
  6.  US school groups (called Districts)
Salary and Benefits
  • R20,000 base monthly salary
  • OTE will range from R35,000 – R50,000
