Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our fractional CFO to support a wide range of financial initiatives for multiple clients. From cleaning up books and establishing robust financial systems, to developing and refining financial models, you will be an essential contributor to ensuring our clients have the financial clarity and structure they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models (forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses) to guide client decision-making and strategic planning.
- Accounting & Book Cleanup: Organize, reconcile, and maintain client financial records in compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- System Implementation: Evaluate and set up financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial data for each client.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards; provide insights on trends, variances, and potential areas of improvement.
- Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with the fractional CFO and client teams to gather financial data, address questions, and provide recommendations for best practices.
- Deck & Presentation Preparation: Build compelling financial presentations, including pitch decks and performance updates, to communicate key insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to refine workflows, enhance reporting capabilities, and increase automation within finance functions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA a plus).
- Experience: 3+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience (experience working in a startup environment or with multiple clients preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and ERP systems (Cin7 or Netsuite).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling abilities (experience with tools like Google Sheets or financial software is a plus).
- Familiarity with creating investor-facing and internal presentation decks (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members at various levels.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Team Player: Willing to “roll up your sleeves” and collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining accountability for individual deliverables..
